Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the catering and hospitality industry. The successful candidate will be involved in various food preparation tasks, assisting chefs, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly according to established recipes and standards
Support the catering team in setting up and clearing workstations before and after service
Help with food safety procedures, including proper storage, handling, and labelling of ingredients
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment to ensure hygiene compliance
Assist with serving food during meal times, ensuring timely and courteous service
Support with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
Ability to work efficiently under supervision while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude when serving customers or colleagues
Willingness to learn new culinary skills and adapt to different kitchen routines
Basic understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
