Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join our educational institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring student attendance, maintaining accurate records, and promoting punctuality and regular attendance among pupils. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the school community and support student success through effective attendance management. Prior experience in teaching or educational settings is preferred, as it enhances understanding of student needs and school procedures. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to ensure attendance policies are upheld.

Responsibilities

Monitor daily student attendance and absence records accurately
Liaise with teachers, parents, and guardians regarding attendance issues
Implement strategies to encourage punctuality and consistent attendance
Maintain detailed records of attendance data for reporting purposes
Follow up on unexplained absences promptly and appropriately
Support the development of attendance improvement programmes
Assist in organising meetings related to attendance concerns
Ensure compliance with school policies and relevant legislation regarding attendance management

Experience

Previous experience in an educational environment is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
Familiarity with school administrative systems and record keeping is desirable
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: £28,598.00-£32,061.00 per year
