Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Coordinator to organise and oversee engaging activities for residents within our residential Care Home.

Main Objectives of the Post

· To initiate, co-ordinate and provide a wide range of individual and group activities for service users aimed at meeting their physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs.

· To understand the need of promoting the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment for all the service users.

· To motivate and guide the care staff to participate in the home activity programme, incorporating it into the daily lives of service users.

Responsibilities

Develop, plan, and implement a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic programmes that promote socialisation and engagement.
Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and abilities, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible.
Maintain organised records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback for continuous improvement.
Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages participation and enhances residents’ sense of community.
Stay informed about best practices in, dementia support, and activity programming to ensure high standards of service delivery.

Qualifications

Prior experience working in a Care Home is highly desirable.
Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, is essential.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff.
Demonstrated organisational skills to plan and execute diverse activity programmes efficiently.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of older adults through meaningful engagement.
This role offers an enriching opportunity to contribute positively to the lives of our residents while working within a supportive team dedicated to compassionate care.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
