Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a keen eye for detail to contribute to our reputation for quality service.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
Use hand tools and power tools to carry out minor repairs or adjustments as necessary to facilitate testing.
Record test results accurately and provide clear explanations of findings to customers.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the testing bay and workshop area.
Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to manufacturer specifications.
Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines during all activities, including heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role.
Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, including manoeuvring vehicle parts or equipment.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
Knowledge of current MOT legislation and testing procedures is highly desirable.
A recognised MOT tester qualification or certification will be considered an advantage. This position is ideal for dedicated professionals seeking to utilise their technical skills within a reputable automotive environment, contributing to safe and compliant vehicle operation on the road.
