You’re the kind of person who notices when something needs doing and gets it sorted.

Maybe you're fresh out of university, have recently finished your studies, or are looking for your first professional role in property management. You don't need years of experience in property management — what matters is that you're organised, proactive, and eager to learn. Maybe you don’t want to be stuck behind a desk all day but want to be out and about on sites also.

At HJ Property Management, we're looking for someone who can help keep our properties, tenants, contractors, and day-to-day operations running smoothly. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in property management while learning from an experienced team.

We're not looking for someone who already knows everything. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates well, and enjoys solving problems.

You'll learn how to manage tenant enquiries, coordinate maintenance works, organise compliance requirements, and support the wider business. We'll provide training and guidance, but you'll need to bring curiosity, initiative, reliability and a willingness to get stuck in.

You'll enjoy this role if you like bringing order to moving parts.

A tenant enquiry. A contractor update. A compliance reminder. A maintenance issue that needs coordinating. You'll learn how to prioritise tasks, communicate clearly, and keep things moving.

Good property management is about:

You'll be helping to coordinate:

Tenant communication
Maintenance requests
Contractor scheduling
Property compliance
Administration and record keeping
Documentation and reporting
General operational support

We're looking for someone who is:

Naturally organised
A strong communicator, transparency and honesty is key
Reliable and professional
Comfortable learning new systems and technology
Proactive and willing to take initiative
Calm when managing multiple priorities
Interested in developing a long-term career
Happy to be out and about visiting sites, not desk bound all day

You don't need previous property management experience, but the following would be helpful:

A university degree or equivalent qualification
Experience from part-time work, volunteering, student leadership, internships, or projects
Confidence using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar software
An interest in property, business operations, customer service, or project coordination

We're particularly interested in people who:

What you'll be doing day to day

Working with a more experienced property manager on their portfolio while you learn and build knowledge
Supporting the management of multiple properties
Responding to tenant enquiries and requests
Coordinating maintenance issues and contractor visits
Keeping records, documents, and compliance information up to date
Chasing updates and following up on outstanding actions
Helping create organised systems and processes
Supporting the wider team with operational tasks
Using technology and software tools to improve efficiency
Building strong relationships with tenants, landlords, and contractors

What success looks like

Tasks are completed accurately and on time
Tenants and landlords feel informed and supported
Maintenance issues are handled efficiently
Records and documentation are organised and up to date
Problems are identified early and resolved effectively
Processes become more efficient over time
The business runs more smoothly because you're part of the team
