Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Self Employed Hair Stylist to join our dynamic team. This role offers the flexibility of working independently while providing exceptional hair styling, grooming, and beauty services to clients. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hairdressing and beauty treatments, alongside excellent customer service skills. As a self-employed professional, you will manage your own schedule and client base, delivering personalised services in a welcoming environment that encourages creativity and growth.

Responsibilities

Deliver a wide range of hair styling services including cutting, colouring, styling, and specialised treatments such as eyelash extensions and makeup application.
Provide personalised consultations to understand client needs and recommend suitable styles or treatments.
Manage your own appointments, ensuring timely scheduling and efficient utilisation of your working hours.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in your workspace in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Upsell additional services and retail products to enhance client satisfaction and maximise revenue opportunities.
Build strong relationships with clients through excellent communication skills and personalised service, encouraging repeat business.
Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and products in the beauty industry through ongoing education and mentoring opportunities.
Assist with store management tasks if required, including stock organisation and front desk duties to ensure smooth salon operations.

Requirements

Proven experience in hair styling, barbering, or related beauty services with a portfolio of work demonstrating your skills.
Knowledge of store management principles is advantageous for managing your own business operations effectively.
Skills in eyelash extensions, makeup application, and other specialised treatments are desirable.
Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills to engage clients confidently.
Ability to upsell services and products tactfully to enhance client experience while increasing revenue.
Experience in mentoring or training junior staff is a plus but not essential.
Self-motivated with organisational skills to manage appointments efficiently and independently.
A recognised qualification in hairdressing or beauty therapy is preferred.
