Commis Chef

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commis Chef with a passion for creating exceptional dishes, within Kitchen brigade at Trump Turnberry

Position

As a key part of the kitchen team, you are expected to be committed to producing an exceptional quality of food at all times. Your work should be carried out in a professional and safe manner, to the best of your abilities and following the guidance of your senior chefs. A commis chef should take pride in their job, look after their working environment and respect the produce you work with.

Job Functions (include the following, however, this list is not exhaustive):

To work as part of the kitchen team, communicating well with others to ensure a smooth service of food, to provide support to others if under pressure and to ask for help if it is required to meet our service standards.
Have full awareness of all menu items for the section of the kitchen allocated, to have copies of all relevant menus, recipes and dish specifications as required
To understand what the kitchen hygiene standards are and to ensure that your working area and fridges meet that requirement
To respect the food produce at all times, making sure that it is stored, prepared and cooked as instructed, reporting any potential food wastage to the Senior chef
Ensure that the correct HASSAP procedure is followed with regards to food delivery, storage, rotation and temperature recording
To drive a clean as you go policy within the team, ensure all areas reach the required standard and complete the cleaning and close down procedure as specified

Job Requirements:

Must be eligible to work within the UK.
Must be able to communicate comfortably in both spoken & written English.
Must be able to conform to our strict grooming policy in line with our 5 red star brand standards.
Knowledge and experience within a similar kitchen environment is essential.
Some supervisory experience would be an advantage.
The candidate should be able to work in a team and also show leadership qualities.
