GTR is an industry-leading composite manufacturing company looking for 6 Apprentice Composite Technicians to join their welcoming and supportive team from October 2026. Key Responsibilities

Selection of appropriate techniques and procedures to produce components.
Handling of composite materials and the established health & safety procedures
Understanding the correct storage and applications of composite materials
Understanding of different types of resins and adhesives for bonding and assembly
Production of carbon fibre mould tools and preparation procedures
Manufacturing of individual components across a range of sectors
Reading and understanding of technical drawings and procedure manuals
Laminating of geometrically complex components and assembly techniques
Health & Safety, Inspection and Project Management procedures

Working Week: 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday - 08.00am - 4.30pm with half hour for lunch and 2 x 15-minute breaks during the day.

Salary: £340 per week for under 18years - £360 per week for over 18years

£17,680 per annum for under 18yrs - £18,720 per annum for over 18 yrs

Qualifications Required: 3 GCSE’s minimum grade 4 are required to be considered including Maths, English and Science

Future Prospects: On successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be opportunity to experience different disciplines and departments within the organisation. Potential to continue study at Level 4 and beyond.

What you need to know:

A minimum of 3 GCSE’s minimum grade 4 are required to be considered including Math, English, and Science
For the first 7-8 months, apprentices will attend our training centre based in Littlehampton, this is easily accessible from Littlehampton train station.
After this time, apprentices will move to the site at Fontwell.
Own transportation is required as the closest train station would be Barnham and bus routes are limited.
This apprenticeship requires full-time commitment of a minimum 40 hours per week including attendance at Chichester College
This is a 36-month apprenticeship excluding End Point Assessment
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview between 3rd to 7th August with a potential start date of 7th October 2026.
For apprentices under 18 - £8.50 per hour (£17,680 per annum) and over 18’s - £9.00 per hour (£18,720 per annum).
You MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship.
You MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK.
You MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study.
You MUST BE committed to completing the full apprenticeship

Further Information

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £8.00 per hour (As of the 1st April 2026). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16- to 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.

Pay: £17,680.00-£18,270.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

Arundel BN18: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
