Technical Sales Executive – B2C Field & Office Sales

OffGrid Pro Ltd designs and delivers high-quality solar PV, battery storage and off-grid energy systems for residential and commercial customers across the UK.

We specialise in practical, engineered energy solutions that give our customers greater energy independence, resilience and control. As demand for our systems continues to grow, we are looking for a technically minded and commercially driven Technical Sales Executive to join our team.

This is not a purely desk-based sales position. You will work directly with customers from initial enquiry through to site survey, system proposal and sale, combining technical understanding with strong relationship-building and closing skills.

The Role

As a Technical Sales Executive, you will be responsible for converting qualified B2C enquiries into successfully sold OffGrid Pro systems.

You will spend time both in the office and out in the field, meeting prospective customers, understanding their energy requirements, carrying out site surveys and presenting the most appropriate OffGrid Pro solution.

You will act as a trusted technical point of contact for the customer, explaining sometimes complex solar, battery and off-grid concepts in a straightforward and commercially compelling way.

Key Responsibilities

Manage B2C sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to signed order.
Speak with prospective customers by telephone, video call, email and face-to-face.
Qualify incoming enquiries and establish customer requirements, budgets, timescales and project objectives.
Conduct customer site surveys at residential properties and other prospective installation locations.
Assess installation space, electrical infrastructure, equipment locations, cable routes, solar PV potential and customer energy usage.
Gather accurate technical information for the design and project teams.
Work with the OffGrid Pro technical team to develop suitable solar PV, battery storage, backup and off-grid system proposals.
Present OffGrid Pro systems to customers clearly and confidently.
Explain the features, benefits and commercial value of proposed systems.
Prepare and present quotations and proposals.
Follow up opportunities consistently and professionally.
Handle customer questions and objections and guide customers towards the right technical solution.
Negotiate and close sales while maintaining appropriate commercial margins.
Maintain accurate records of enquiries, surveys, quotations, follow-ups and sales activity.
Ensure a smooth handover of sold projects into the design, project coordination and installation process.
Represent OffGrid Pro professionally when visiting customers and attending industry or customer events.
Build long-term customer relationships that support referrals and repeat business.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical understanding with a demonstrable record of high-value sales performance.

The successful candidate should have a proven track record of achieving annual sales volumes in excess of £1 million, ideally within solar, battery storage, renewable energy, electrical systems, home improvements or another technical B2C sales environment.

You do not necessarily need to be an electrical engineer, but you must be confident learning and discussing technical systems with customers.

You will be:

Able to demonstrate annual sales performance exceeding £1m.

Commercially driven and motivated by achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Experienced in selling higher-value products or engineered systems.
Technically minded with an interest in renewable and off-grid energy.
Able to explain technical subjects in clear, straightforward language.
Strong at qualifying opportunities, building value and closing business.
Organised and disciplined with sales follow-up.
Able to listen carefully and identify what the customer actually needs.
Comfortable working independently when attending customer sites.
Equally comfortable working as part of an office-based technical and project team.
Accurate when gathering site and technical information.
Proactive, accountable and able to manage your own sales pipeline.
Focused on delivering an excellent customer experience.

Site Survey Responsibilities

Site surveying will be an important part of this position.

You will be trained to gather the information required to enable OffGrid Pro to accurately design and price a system.

Typical survey activities may include:

Reviewing customer electricity consumption and energy requirements.
Discussing desired backup and off-grid functionality.
Identifying suitable locations for batteries, inverters and associated equipment.
Assessing potential solar PV locations.
Reviewing existing electrical equipment and supply arrangements.
Identifying potential cable routes and installation constraints.
Taking measurements, photographs and site notes.
Identifying unusual technical or installation risks that require further engineering input.

Where a project requires more detailed engineering assessment, you will work closely with OffGrid Pro's technical and design team.

Requirements

Proven track record of annual sales volumes exceeding £1 million.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel to customer sites.
Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Previous sales experience within a technical, renewable-energy, electrical, construction or home-improvement environment preferred.
Comfortable using CRM, email and standard office software.
Ability to understand and communicate technical information accurately.

Technical training can be provided for the right candidate, but strong sales performance, commercial ability, attention to detail and the ability to build customer trust are essential.
