Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to young children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in childcare and early childhood education to develop their skills within a supportive setting.

Job role

Assist the Head of Nursery providing a balanced curriculum according to the needs of the children.
Have a sound knowledge of child development, the Statutory Framework and the curriculum guidance to the Foundation Stage.
Assist the Head of Nursery in ensuring that the nursery is a well-organised, tidy and stimulating learning environment.
To take on the role of a key person, to plan and assess to meet children’s individual needs, and ensure they progress in their learning and development.
Assist the Head of Nursery with assessment procedures.
Work with individual children and small groups of children, at times, to improve learning.
Encourage children to have respect for their teachers, peers and the environment, promoting acceptable standards of behaviour.
Provide additional adult supervision on occasions when the children go off site e.g. outings and field trips.
Maintain a professional relationship with parents to foster and develop positive Home-School partnership.
Attend meetings, Inset and other training sessions as required by the Headmaster.
Maintain loyalty to staff, Head of Nursery, the Headmaster and school.
Be professional and confidential when dealing with any information concerning individuals gained in the course of working in the school.
Level 3 in relevant childcare qualification.
GCSE Maths and English.
Working with children aged 2-4 years.
Being a key person, with extensive knowledge of the EYFS.
Safeguarding knowledge
Work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Good I.T. skills.
High levels of personal and professional integrity.
Personal warmth, good rapport with pupils, colleagues and parents.
Good organisation skills.
The desire to extend professional development.
Have a ‘can do’ attitude.
