At The Abbotsford Hotel we pride ourselves in delivering impeccable service and a memorable experience to every guest we welcome, and every successful service begins behind the scenes. Our kitchen team and its operations play a crucial and huge part in ensuring an all-round positive experience in our functions, events, and to those visiting for a meal with loved ones.

We are looking to expand our kitchen team and are seeking a reliable, proactive and motivated kitchen porter. As a kitchen porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively. If you take pride in maintaining high standards, enjoy working as a team supporting others, and thrive in a fast-paced environment this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What you’ll be doing

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and back of house areas
Wash dishes, glassware and all kitchen equipment efficiently
Support the kitchen team by keeping workstations clean and organised
Assist with deliveries, stock monitoring and storing
Ensure compliance with health and safety policies
Help maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintainence issues
Assist chefs with basic food preparation when required
Work collaboratively with chefs, front of house and management to support smooth service
Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure bins are emptied regularly

Previous experience in hospitality or a similar role is desired but not essential, as training will be provided
Basic understanding of food and safety hygiene practices
