Overview

Everest Care Group is looking for caring and committed Bank Residential Support Workers & Bank Senior Support Workers to join our team in our children’s home. You will play a crucial role in supporting young people with diverse needs, ensuring they receive high-quality care that improves their overall well-being. This role demands excellent communication skills, a genuine enthusiasm for supporting others, and the ability to work effectively alongside both the young people in our care and your colleagues. Promote the welfare, safety, personal growth, and overall well-being of the young people in our care. Work to meet the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of each young person whenever possible. Take part in the daily running of the service, following Everest Care Group’s policies, procedures and statement of purpose. Create and maintain a homely, nurturing, and supportive environment within the home for all residents.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to creating a positive impact on young lives. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop professional skills within a supportive organisation.

Please note the shift pattern for this role is as and when required.

Main Responsibilities of the Role Include (but are not limited to):

Provide consistent support for young people to attend their educational placements and adhere to their Educational Health Care Plans.
Maintain thorough and accurate records, demonstrating strong report-writing capabilities to ensure daily documentation is completed to a high standard.
Implement care plans effectively to guarantee that each young person’s individual needs are met.
Accompany and support young people at health-related appointments, including visits to GPs, dentists, opticians, and CAMHS.
Act as a positive role model for young people at all times.
Help plan, organise, and participate in activities and hobbies that engage and inspire our young people.
Attend to and support the emotional and physical needs of the young people in our care.
Facilitate the development of positive relationships, fostering trust and mutual respect.
Communicate and collaborate with external professionals, such as police, social workers, and Ofsted inspectors, to support the welfare of our young people.
Encourage and support contact between young people and their families, both in person and over the phone.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and maintain a professional, non-judgemental manner at all times.
Create and uphold a friendly, relaxed atmosphere within the home, promoting enjoyment, motivation, self-esteem, and respect for self and others.
Assist with administrative tasks by keeping accurate records and ensuring all documentation and reporting requirements are met.
Champion anti-discriminatory and equal opportunities practices, adhering to Everest Care Group policies.
Safely record and administer medication in accordance with company guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting children's well-being and development.
Previous experience supporting children and young people who face emotional or behavioural challenges is highly advantageous.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with children, families, and team members.
Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting purpose.
Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays and adhere to safeguarding policies.
Full UK driving licence.
Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
QCF Level 3/4 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce, or a commitment to achieve this within two years of joining Everest Care Group
