Full job description

Job Summary
DB Haulage are looking for experience drivers to operate our Rigid Beavertail lorries, The right candidate will have experience in loading and securing all machines from construction machinery, to access equipment and many other machines from the construction and site work industries.

Duties

Safely operate a lorry to transport goods to designated locations.
Load and unload equipment safely
Collaborate with site staff to ensure all of the correct equipment is loaded as per transport orders.
Ensure all loads are secured to the lorry correctly and safely
Maintain accurate paperwork, whether, hand written, app based, or documented transport notes
Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving and performing duties.
Ensure all European drivers hours and working time laws are adhered to, and that tachographs are downloaded when required.
Follow set routes, and be able to plan routes when needed.

Job requirements

Valid UK driving licence for the size of vehicle
Must be over 25 years of age for insurance purposes
Ipaf operators card (preferred but not essential)
Provable experience in loading various machinery
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks, (handling of heavy chains for load security)
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing loads and documentation.
Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
Load and secure certification (preferable, but not essential)

Overtime available

The work will be varied and can be a mix of local day hire work to long distance runs, meaning the right candidate must be flexible with hours worked to fulfil the role.
