Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Support Workers to provide high-quality assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the well-being and independence of those in their care, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to make a positive difference. Prior experience in senior care, dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or child care is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where your skills can significantly improve clients' quality of life.

Duties

Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols
Support individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's through behaviour management techniques and specialised care strategies
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a caring environment
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean living space
Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
Monitor health status and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
Implement first aid procedures when necessary and maintain accurate documentation of care provided

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is preferred
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care practices is advantageous
Certification in first aid and medication administration is desirable
Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
Valid driving licence for transportation duties is preferred
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages
Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing respectful and dignified care
Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if required
