Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Short Order Cook/Chef to join our bustling kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals quickly and efficiently, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to contribute to a vibrant dining environment. Previous restaurant experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of food safety protocols and excellent serving skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of short order dishes in accordance with menu specifications and customer preferences.
Ensure all food is prepared promptly, maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist in meal preparation during busy periods, supporting the overall efficiency of the kitchen team.
Follow food safety procedures diligently, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
Serve meals to customers in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Manage stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing or are running low.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation processes.
Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Prior experience working in a restaurant or similar setting is highly desirable.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and serve customers courteously.
