Full job description

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care team and support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and who can lead, support and motivate a team to provide outstanding care and support to the people we look after.

You will play an important role in ensuring that our service is safe, well organised and welcoming, while promoting the dignity, independence, wellbeing and choice of every individual.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the service.
Lead, support and motivate the care team to deliver high standards of care.
Promote a positive, respectful and supportive team culture.
Ensure care plans, risk assessments and daily records are accurate and up to date.
Support staff with supervision, training and development.
Assist with staff rotas, shift planning and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
Monitor the quality of care and identify areas for improvement.
Respond appropriately to concerns, incidents and complaints.
Work closely with families, professionals and other members of the care team.
Ensure policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.
Support audits, inspections and quality assurance processes.
Lead by example and encourage effective communication and teamwork.
Step up and take responsibility for the service in the Registered Manager's absence.

Shift Pattern & On-Call Requirements

This is a full-time role operating across a flexible shift pattern to support the needs of our domiciliary care service.

The usual working pattern will include:

7:00am – 3:00pm
9:00am – 5:00pm
11:00am – 7:00pm
9:00am – 5:00pm
x 2 on calls during the week per month
1 weekend per month on-call

The role requires flexibility to work across these shift patterns and to respond to operational requirements as they arise.

You will be expected to be available to support the service during your allocated on-call periods, including dealing with staffing issues, care queries, emergencies and changes to care arrangements.

This role is particularly suited to someone who is flexible, organised and confident making decisions independently, including when working under pressure and outside standard office hours.
