Nursery Assistant – Alexander House Nursery

About the Position

Alexander House Nursery is seeking a warm, dependable, and motivated Nursery Assistant to join our welcoming teams in Wimbledon (Quicks Road). In this role, you will help provide a safe, engaging, and supportive space where children feel confident to explore, learn, and develop.

Key Duties

Assist in planning and delivering fun, developmentally appropriate activities that support children’s learning.
Observe children’s progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates with parents and carers.
Work collaboratively with families and colleagues to meet each child’s individual needs.
Follow all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety standards.
Support everyday routines such as preparing snacks, tidying and maintaining the environment, and providing attentive care.
Take part in training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Help create an inclusive, welcoming, and high-quality setting for every child.

About You

Kind, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a nursery or childcare environment (essential).
Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one before starting.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices (training available).
