Job role: Field Engineer

Location: North West Region

We're looking for a Field Engineer to join our team and help deliver exceptional IT support and customer experiences. Whether you're an experienced Field Engineer or you're looking to take the next step in your IT support career, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, solving technical challenges, and delivering outstanding service. You'll provide on-site support across a variety of client environments, helping organisations get the most from their technology through installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and proactive recommendations.

No two days are the same. Whether you're carrying out scheduled visits, responding to critical incidents, supporting project work, or assisting remotely through the Service Desk, you'll play an important role in keeping our clients connected, secure, and productive.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Field Engineer, you will:

Deliver on-site technical support, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops, servers, and network equipment.
Respond to incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs and customer expectations.
Accurately document all work and maintain client records within our PSA system.
Manage your workload effectively, prioritising tasks while providing excellent customer service.
Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
Identify opportunities to improve client systems, performance, and service delivery.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with security, safety, and operational standards.
Support project delivery alongside Professional Services Engineers when required.
Provide remote support through the Service Desk between client visits.
Attend urgent and Priority 1 site visits when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience working as a Field Engineer, Service Desk Engineer, or in a similar IT support role.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop environments.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Backup and DRaaS solutions, Entra ID, and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies.
Good understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, and switching.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.

Desirable Skills

Experience with Microsoft Intune and Conditional Access.
Knowledge of Mimecast email security solutions.
