Team Leader- Day Opportunities Service

Salary - Grade 6 (£36,363 - £40,777)

Hours - 37 hours

Contract type - full time, permanent

Work Style - Flexible

Locations: Neil Dougherty Centre, Masefield Road, Wolverhampton, WV10 8SA and Action for Independence, Albert Road, Wolverhampton, WV6 0AF

About the role:

Day opportunities have an exciting opportunity for a permanent team leader to join our team. We provide services for adults with a learning disability or those living with dementia, operating from two sites across the city.

We are seeking applicants who are enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative in their approach to care. Successful candidates will:

Share our commitment to empowering individuals through choice and involvement
Promote independence while enabling individuals to have control over their lives
Provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred support
Have a background in supporting adults in community-based settings
Can identify and create opportunities for individuals to interact within the local community
Bring experience of working within Health & Social Care services
Have experience of supervising staff
Participate in staff development, appraisal and training
Uphold and promote equality, diversity and inclusion
Have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Hold a relevant social care qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)

The post requires working 5 out of 7, this will primarily be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 6pm. The role will entail working across the City of Wolverhampton.

NJC Pay Award for 2026 / 2027:

The annual pay increases for 2026/27 for NJC Local Government Employees are currently being negotiated and, once agreed, will be effective from 1 April 2026.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
