Full job description

Overview
To be responsible for ensuring the standards of service & presentation of all food are adhered to at all times. Maintaining the quality, standards & cleanliness of each section in the kitchen. Ensuring the kitchen brigade are managed in a professional & calm manner. Levels of stock are maintained in line with PH standards using agreed suppliers. To be responsible for cleanliness, presentation and maintenance of the kitchen areas. To supervise the kitchen brigade on a day to day basis. To support Head Chef & all colleagues in other areas of the hotel and to assist as required.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Train new kitchen staff on procedures, techniques, and safety protocols.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality before serving.

Skills

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or culinary setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
In-depth knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when required.
A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
