About Us

Alt Fire is a growing specialist engineering consultancy delivering bespoke, pragmatic, timely and responsive fire safety solutions for complex infrastructure and built environments.

As we expand, we are looking for a highly organised person to support our Directors in maintaining and improving our business systems and compliance systems as well as helping convert leads into secured projects.

The Role

This is a key support role focused on helping the business meet and maintain our ISO 9001 accreditation, improving and administrating business processes, and ensuring health & safety requirements are being met. The role also includes supporting the Directors and the wider team in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure robust systems, documentation, and processes are in place and effectively managed.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for flexible, part-time work with exposure to engineering consultancy operations and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

ISO 9001 / Quality Management

Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
Manage document control, procedures, and records
Support internal audits, management reviews, and corrective actions

Health & Safety Compliance

Maintain H&S policies, risk assessments, and records
Support incident reporting and tracking
Coordinate staff training and competency records

Regulatory & Accreditation Support

Track compliance with UK regulations (e.g. CDM, workplace requirements)
Manage accreditations
Maintain compliance registers and renewal schedules

Business & Administrative Support

Assist Directors with compliance reporting and documentation
Maintain structured digital filing systems
Support continuous improvement initiatives

Business Development

Support Directors in client engagement and account development
Maintain a library of bid materials and case studies
Support marketing initiatives including LinkedIn content, events, and networking
Help coordinate attendance at industry events and conferences
Contribute to development of company messaging and positioning

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience of working with administrative processes in relation to ISO 9001 and Health & Safety regulations compliance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence dealing with a wide range of people.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing tasks to deadlines.
Customer-focused approach, with the ability to provide information and guidance while maintaining confidentiality.
Attention to detail and good numeracy, with the ability to identify and resolve routine issues.
Digital literacy and confidence using standard IT packages and online systems.
