Full job description

An opportunity has arisen in our Front of House team and we are looking for someone to join us as our Deputy Front of House Manager at our Bettys Cafe Tearooms in York. As a Deputy Front of House Manager you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of Waiter/Waitresses and Front of House Team Leaders to deliver a deliciously magical experience to every customer. You will report to the Front of House Manager and deputise for them in their absence.

Working pattern

This is a Full Time position working a minimum of 37.5 hours over 5 days.

We have a variety of shift patterns with start and finish times staggered throughout the day which is dependent on the opening hours of the branch.

As a Duty Manager you will be required to work some early mornings or later finishes including covering some of our evening dining shifts.

You will be required to work at least one day at the weekend every week.

About you

You’ll have a background of working in and organising a busy cafe. You’ll have experience in managing and motivating a team. You will have knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. Ideally you will have previous experience of working to KPI’s such as labour budgets.
