Finance Intern – Rotational Programme (Manchester)

Gain a front-row seat to how finance operates at scale. As a Finance Intern in our Manchester Global Finance Services (shared services center), you'll rotate across Order to Cash (OTC), Procure to Pay (PTP), and Record to Report (RTR), building a complete picture of how finance teams operate within a global organisation.

This isn't a single-team internship - you'll work across multiple functions, contribute to real financial processes, and develop both technical and analytical skills that form the foundation of a finance career.

What you'll be doing

During your internship, you will rotate across different areas of finance and support a variety of activities, including:

Order to Cash (OTC) – Revenue, Billing, and Collections

Support billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition processes

Assist with aged debtors and cash collection tracking

Maintain client purchase orders and approvals in Oracle

Procure to Pay (PTP) - Supplier and Spend Management

Support supplier invoice processing and query resolution

Assist with purchase order management and controls

Help ensure accurate and timely payment cycles

Record to Report (RTR) – Financial Control & Reporting

Contribute to month-end close activities, including reconciliations

Assist in maintaining financial records and journal postings

Contribute to reporting and audit preparation

Across all rotations:

Produce weekly and monthly reports (e.g. reconciliations, contract lists, missing data checks)

Analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and improvement opportunities

Support process improvements and data quality initiatives

Work with Oracle and other finance systems to maintain accurate records

What you'll gain

What we're looking for

2nd year student, currently studying Finance, Accountancy, Data Analytics, or a related field

Strong Excel and data handling skills (e.g. formulas, data analysis, reporting)

Comfortable working with large datasets and identifying trends or issues

High attention to detail and a focus on accuracy

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Proactive, curious, and willing to take ownership of tasks

Strong communication skills and confidence working with different teams

Previous finance or accounting experience is beneficial but not essential.
