Job Description

Counterbalance FLT Driver - Days– Birmingham (B37)
Salary: £27,710 + 20% shift allowance = £33,252 per year
Shifts: Monday - Friday, 6AM - 2PM and 2PM - 10PM Rotating weekly
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Marston Green, Birmingham, B37 7HD

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Counterbalance FLT Driver to join CHEP – the global leader in pallet, crate, and container pooling. You’ll be working with 4.5-ton triple fork vehicles in a busy yard environment, loading/unloading HGVs and moving pallet stacks.

What you’ll do

Safely operate FLT trucks to support production & haulier operations
Direct visiting vehicles during loading & unloading
Maintain smooth flow on production lines within agreed SLAs
Assist with manual inspection & repair of equipment in the yard
Report any damage or operational issues promptly
Handle and rotate stock safely and efficiently

What we need from you

Experience as a Counterbalance FLT Driver (busy yard/HGV loading preferred)
External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) is ideal – in-house licences considered
Experience with double/triple fork FLTs = big advantage
Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
