Full job description

Health and Safety Administrator

West Point Construction is looking for an organised and motivated Health and Safety Administrator to support our Health and Safety team and site-based operations.

This role would suit someone with excellent attention to detail, strong IT skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Key responsibilities

Provide general administrative support to the Health and Safety department.
Maintain and update systems including PIMS, Biosite and SafetyCulture.
Create and maintain databases as required.
Monitor, report on and action training requirements for employees and operatives.
Produce and maintain site-specific Health and Safety training matrices.
Help administer, distribute and order personal protective equipment (PPE) and site signage.
Complete training to support the business with licences, consents and traffic-management arrangements.
Conduct inductions and drug and alcohol testing for new operatives once trained.
Carry out other reasonable duties that support West Point Construction’s Health and Safety function.

The successful candidate will:

Be organised, motivated and able to prioritise their workload.
Demonstrate sound professional judgement and a responsible approach.
Have excellent attention to detail.
Be computer literate, with good Microsoft Excel skills.
Be able to handle confidential information appropriately.
Be comfortable following instructions and working as part of a team.
Be willing to learn and develop the role in line with the needs of the business.

Reporting structure

You will report primarily to the Health and Safety Director and work closely with the Health and Safety Training and Compliance Manager and the Senior Health and Safety Manager.

Working hours

Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a one-hour lunch break.

Flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

Training and support

All necessary training will be provided, along with ongoing support to help you succeed and develop within the role.
