Full job description

Field Sales Role - South of England - Head Office Alton GU34 2QJ

Successful candidate must be based in or around the South of England with commutable access to the territory. This role is 4 days on the road + 1 day home office administration.

The Account Manager will develop and grow sales of our decorative lighting ranges within an established territory, managing existing trade accounts while identifying and winning new business.

Key Responsibilities Account Management

Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts including lighting retailers, electrical wholesalers, and online resellers
Build strong, long-term relationships with buyers, store managers and business owners
Conduct regular face-to-face visits, showroom reviews and product training sessions
Monitor account performance against targets and produce accurate sales forecasts

Business Development

Identify, target and open new stockists and trade accounts within the territory
Develop relationships with interior designers, specifiers, house builders and hospitality clients
Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions and industry events

Sales & Commercial

Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
Negotiate pricing, terms and promotional support within company guidelines
Present new collections and seasonal launches to customers
Advise customers on range selection, display planning and merchandising

Product & Market Expertise

Maintain in-depth knowledge of the full product portfolio, including technical specifications (IP ratings, lamp types, dimming compatibility)
Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends, reporting insights to management
Deliver product training to customer sales staff

Administration & Reporting

Maintain accurate records in the CRM system (visits, pipeline, opportunities)
Submit weekly call plans and monthly territory reports
Manage customer queries on orders, deliveries and after-sales issues alongside internal teams

Person SpecificationEssential

Proven field sales / account management experience, ideally 3+ years
Track record of achieving sales targets in a B2B environment
Excellent relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills
Self-motivated and able to manage a territory independently
Full clean driving licence

Desirable

Experience in lighting, electrical, home furnishings, KBB or interiors sectors
Existing relationships with lighting retailers or electrical wholesalers
Knowledge of lighting technology and regulations
Experience selling to specification/hospitality projects
