About Chancerygate

Founded in 1995, Chancerygate is the UK’s largest urban logistics property developer and investment manager, and the only one operating nationwide. The business is dedicated to creating high quality, sustainable spaces and is expanding throughout Europe, with offices established in Dublin, Madrid, Lisbon and Berlin to further enable its growth plans.

In Europe, the company has in excess of 645,000 sq ft of Grade A multi-let urban logistics accommodation under construction or ready for development across four sites — one in Ireland, two in Spain and one in Portugal — with a combined gross development value of around £105m.

In the UK, Chancerygate currently has around 2.2 million sq ft of urban logistics space under construction or ready for development across 15 sites ranging from Leeds to Croydon. The company manages more than £750m of investment assets across the UK and Europe, with an investment portfolio comprising more than 540 units totalling around 4.7 million sq ft of commercial space.

Job Purpose

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for staff and visitors, in person and by phone, and plays a key role in creating a professional, welcoming environment. Reporting to the Office Manager, the role combines front-of-house reception duties with day-to-day administrative support, helping the building and its people run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for all visitors and incoming calls, ensuring an efficient, professional and welcoming service at all times.
Create a positive, memorable experience for every staff member or visitor who contacts or enters the building.
Sign in and badge all visitors in line with building security procedures, maintaining accurate visitor logs and treating visitor information confidentially.
Take ownership of the reception area, keeping it immaculately presented and covered, and ensuring no guest or request goes unanswered.
Support colleagues with ad hoc requests and projects, offering strong organisational skills across a range of scenarios.
Manage everyday office tasks to a high standard, including distributing post, booking meeting rooms and ordering and replenishing kitchen and stationery supplies.
Maintain accurate records through data entry and filing, including visitor logs, courier logs and phone directories.
Support scheduling and diary coordination for meeting rooms and provide light calendar support to the Office Manager where needed.
Coordinate maintenance contractors and cleaners, reporting to the Office Manager as part of facilities management.
Manage recycling, shredding and data destruction processes.
Arrange contractor access for building maintenance and operations.
Act as a fire warden and first aider for the office (training provided).

Qualifications

Essential

Right to work in the UK

GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths

Experience

Essential

Relevant experience in a reception or front-of-house role, with strong administrative skills.

Desirable

Experience within a commercial property or professional services environment.

Skills & knowledge

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exemplary organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confident using office software (e.g. Microsoft Office) and multi-line phone systems.

Desirable

Experience using visitor management or building access systems.
