William Hercock Limited; a truly independent family-owned Builders Merchant. From our three depots across Leicestershire and Rutland, we offer an extensive range of building products for Tradesmen, DIY enthusiast, self-builders and more. ______________________________________________________________________________________________

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Co-Ordinator. Working within our busy sales / transport office in our Melton Mowbray Branch. The successful applicant will be part of a busy team at our 4-acre site.

Summary

As Transport Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating a small fleet of vehicles operating from our site, from small pick-up trucks to large HGV’s. You’ll oversee transport operations, fleet management, route planning, compliance and driving personnel.

Responsibilities

Inspecting transport vehicles, ensuring their safety and checking to see if they need maintenance work.
Organising and maintaining the efficiency of the entire transport delivery service, ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time to ensure customer satisfaction.
Arranging routine maintenance of vehicles in line with the Operators Licence Regulations.
Communicating with vehicle drivers, ensuring that they are kept up to date with relevant training and/or qualifications.
Organising training needs for transport staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet time sensitive targets.

· Experience working within a transport business or team.

· The ability to coach and mentor others.

· The ability to run training programmes.

· An up-to-date understanding of government safety & transport regulations.

· The ability to persevere with difficult transport-related problems

Hours, Salary & Benefits

· 7:30am until 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

· 8:00am until 12noon on Saturdays (on a rota basis, typically 1 in 3).

· We provide a competitive salary depending on experience.
