HR Advisor

Location: Brighton (Hybrid Working)
Reporting to: Head of HR

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our team and support the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality HR service across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will play a key role in supporting people-related initiatives, providing expert HR advice and guidance, and ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

As an HR Advisor, you will contribute to creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve both personal and organisational objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys a varied role encompassing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training and development, workforce planning, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Relations

Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of people matters, including attendance, disciplinary, capability, grievance, and performance management issues.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice, particularly in relation to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Assist in delivering robust probation, supervision, and appraisal processes across the organisation.
Maintain accurate HR records, systems, and reporting processes, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

Recruitment & Workforce Planning

Support and coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities.
Work closely with managers to support workforce planning and resource management.
Liaise with recruitment agencies and oversee agency staffing arrangements where required.
Contribute to initiatives that enhance employee retention and attraction.

Learning & Development

Support the development, delivery, and monitoring of training and development programmes.
Assist in coordinating induction programmes and career development opportunities for employees.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

HR Systems & Reporting

Review and improve HR processes and systems to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Produce HR metrics, reports, and management information to support decision-making and monitor key performance indicators.
Support payroll processes in collaboration with the Finance Team.

Employee Engagement & Wellbeing

Contribute to the development and promotion of employee wellbeing initiatives and benefits.
Gather and utilise employee feedback to improve engagement and enhance the overall employee experience.
Support initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Leadership & Collaboration

Support the Reception Team and collaborate with managers across the organisation to ensure effective people management practices.
Work closely with the Head of HR on strategic HR projects and organisational initiatives.
Contribute to quality improvement activities and the ongoing development of the HR function.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar HR generalist role.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Experience managing employee relations cases and advising managers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
Experience supporting recruitment, training, and performance management activities.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to work.
CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
