Security Officer

Sub Division: Facilities Management

Location: Lincoln, LN1 1YL

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 40 hours - Variable Shift Pattern

Purpose of Role

We are looking for a reliable and professional Security Officer to join our team and provide high-quality security services across a large campus comprising multiple buildings and two sites, one in Lincoln and the other in Sleaford.

Job Description

This is a key security role involving the protection of staff, visitors, buildings, and site assets. The role also includes minor portering duties and requires a flexible approach to working across a variety of shifts, including days and nights, Monday to Sunday, 365 days of the year.

You must hold a current and active SIA Security Licence or above and be able to provide the required documentation.

Responsibilities

Carry out essential security duties, including but not limited to:

Locking and unlocking buildings and facilities
CCTV monitoring
Use of body-worn video cameras
Access control
Conducting physical searches of individuals, luggage, and sites in accordance with procedures
Internal and external patrols
Recording and reporting security incidents
Maintaining the Daily Occurrence Book
Carrying out compliance and security checks
Providing professional and courteous interaction with staff, visitors, and members of the public
Carrying out minor portering duties as required

Essential Qualifications/Skills

Current and active SIA Security Licence or above
Previous security experience is preferred
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, professional, and flexible approach to work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good observation and situational awareness
Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays
