Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary arts. As Head Chef, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality, and inspire your team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with leadership skills and a flair for innovative cuisine to make a significant impact within our establishment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu development, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness in accordance with health and safety regulations
Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before they reach customers
Train and mentor junior staff to develop their culinary skills and promote teamwork
Maintain compliance with food safety standards and implement best practices in hygiene and safety procedures
Collaborate with management on menu planning, special events, and customer feedback to enhance the dining experience
Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs when necessary

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Strong team management abilities with excellent leadership qualities
Competence in food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Experience in restaurant or hospitality settings with a focus on culinary excellence
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
Effective communication skills to lead a diverse team and liaise with other departments
Passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with a solid understanding of current culinary trends
