Full job description

About the role We are looking for a freelance digital marketing specialist to help us grow our consumer customer base across the Thames Valley, initially focusing on Maidenhead, Reading and surrounding areas. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who can combine digital marketing strategy with delivery. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our digital marketing, identify opportunities, implement activity, monitor results and continuously improve performance.

The role will begin with a two-day scoping and planning exercise, followed by one day of support per week for six months, with the potential to extend or expand as necessary. We are particularly interested in someone who can make a relatively small amount of marketing time and budget work hard to generate measurable consumer enquiries and customers.

Who we are looking for You will be a proactive digital marketer, someone who enjoys taking ownership and getting things done. Your work will be vital in helping us create more consumer enquiries and conversions through digital marketing. You will have:

Experience in digital marketing, ideally in a business to consumer environment
Strong practical knowledge of SEO and Google search
Experience with Google Ads/PPC
Experience creating or managing social media content
Experience with WordPress
Experience using Google Analytics and Google Search Console
An understanding of conversion tracking and digital marketing analytics
Experience developing campaigns designed to generate leads or sales
Excellent written communication skills
The ability to explain digital marketing clearly to non-specialists
The ability to work independently and prioritise effectively

Experience of working with energy efficiency, retrofit, renewable energy, property, home improvement or sustainability organisations would be an advantage, but is not essential. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about SaveEnergy's mission and can combine creative ideas, strategic thinking and practical delivery.

What you will do Initial digital marketing review and planning exercise, reviewing our website, customer journey and conversion opportunities including:

SEO and Google search rankings
Google Business Profile, Google Reviews and online reputation
PPC/Google Ads opportunities, Google Analytics and Search Console
Social media presence
Priority consumer audiences and services and how to reach them
Relevant search terms and keywords

Develop and deliver a clear, prioritised six-month digital marketing action plan including:

Priority audiences and services
Recommended marketing channels
SEO, PPC and social media priorities
Website improvements
Google reviews strategy
KPIs and tracking
Suggested marketing/advertising budget
Priorities and deliverables for the ongoing one day-per-week commitment
