Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen personnel, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a reputable hospitality environment, contributing to innovative menu creation and efficient kitchen management.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training new team members and ensuring smooth workflow during service hours.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of food and excellent customer service.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment maintenance and stock control.
Monitor food safety practices throughout the kitchen to comply with legal requirements and company policies.
Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative ideas based on current culinary trends.
Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed to minimise waste.

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production across diverse cuisines.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP procedures, and hospitality best practices.
Previous restaurant experience is preferred, with a solid understanding of service operations such as serving guests efficiently.
Experience in managing kitchen operations during busy periods while maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
