Job Title = Support Worker

Location = Based at my home in Beccles

Rate of pay = £13.55 per hour

A little about me...

I am seeking a Support Worker to assist me at home and out and about. I have a mild learning disability and I love swimming, spending time with my family and going out to the theatre (although we haven’t been able to do this lately!). I also have a young daughter of 6 years of age, and her care is so important to me. We also have a small dog in the house.

I am looking for a Support Worker to assist me with daily tasks, paperwork and caring for my daughter, if needed. Someone with experience of young children would be ideal!

Personal Specification:

Essential -

· A driver, with access to a car, that they are happy to use whilst working with me. I will need support visiting the local area.

· Experience with young children, as I have a daughter who I may need some support with.

· Someone reliable and with good attention to details.

· Someone happy to work in a family home.

· Someone who is down to earth and friendly.

. Someone happy to work in a non-smoking house.

Desirable -

· Someone with local knowledge.

. Someone who is flexible with hours and availability.

Main Duties:

Although this job description is correct at present, it may change form time to time after negotiation with the post holder.

· Support me to maintain my health and wellbeing and to attend appointments in the local area.

· Support me to continue learning new skills and build my confidence.

· Assist me to care for my daughter so that I can be the best mum possible.

· Support me to help carry out my daily living skills, such as cleaning, shopping and washing.

. Assist me with my paperwork and home administration e.g. telephone calls, so that I can keep organised.

Terms and Conditions.

Hours of work = 10 hours per week

Days and times of work = 4 hours on a Tuesday and 6 hours on a Friday

Flexibility of hours = Due to the nature of this job, you can be flexible around the hours that you work, as there may be cover work for the other Personal Assistants in the team.

Expenses = You will be reimbursed any expenses incurred as part of the role.

Annual leave = The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

Background Checks = A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this position. If successful, you will be required to provide details of two referees, one of which must be your current or most recent employer, or character references if you have not been employed.

Trial Period = This post is subject to a probationary period of 3 months.
