BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

thebestof North West

We’re looking for a confident, energetic and driven Business Development Manager to join the team at thebestof North West.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves meeting people, building relationships and helping businesses grow.

At thebestof North West, we work with brilliant local businesses across the region, helping them become more visible, build their reputation, make valuable connections and generate new opportunities through marketing, networking, events and our local business community.

We’re looking for someone who can help us grow that community even further.

THE ROLE

As our Business Development Manager, your main focus will be bringing new businesses into thebestof North West network.

You’ll be out meeting business owners, attending networking events, making calls, following up enquiries and having genuine conversations with businesses about how we can support them.

This isn’t about sitting behind a desk waiting for leads to come in. We’re looking for someone proactive who enjoys opening doors, starting conversations and turning relationships into new business.

You’ll also become a familiar face within the North West business community and play an important part in the continued growth of thebestof across the region.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Identifying and approaching businesses that would benefit from working with thebestof North West.
Booking and attending meetings with business owners and decision-makers.
Building a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
Following up leads through phone calls, email, social media and face-to-face conversations.
Attending our networking events, Business Fairs and other local business events.
Presenting thebestof membership and marketing opportunities in a clear, friendly and confident way.
Building genuine long-term relationships rather than focusing on quick sales.
Following up prospects consistently and converting opportunities into new members.
Keeping our CRM and sales pipeline organised and up to date.
Working closely with the wider team to identify new opportunities, campaigns and areas for growth.
Representing thebestof North West professionally within the local business community.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll ideally have experience in business development, sales, account management or a similar customer-facing role.

More importantly, you’ll be someone who is:

Confident speaking to business owners and decision-makers.
Naturally good at building relationships.
Comfortable picking up the phone and approaching new businesses.
Target-driven and motivated by achieving results.
Positive, proactive and able to create your own opportunities.
Organised and good at managing follow-ups.
Comfortable networking and meeting new people.
A strong communicator both face-to-face and in writing.
Able to work independently while still being part of a close-knit team.
Familiar with CRM systems or happy to learn.
Knowledgeable about, or genuinely interested in, the North West business community.

You don’t need a degree for this role. We’re far more interested in your attitude, personality, experience and ability to build relationships and generate business.
