Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support and assistance to individuals in care homes or receiving home care services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be attentive to residents' needs, and demonstrate a genuine desire to improve their quality of life. Previous experience in care settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a supportive environment.

Job Location: Mid Essex (Applicants will work in Mid Essex and environs)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
Support clients with medication administration in line with their care plans.
Perform light household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
Offer emotional support and companionship, enhancing the well-being of clients.
Help clients with mobility and other daily activities, promoting independence.
Accurately maintain client records and report any changes in health conditions to the care coordinator.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the safety of both service users and yourself.

Skills and Experience Required:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Previous experience in care (desirable but not essential). Full training will be provided.
Knowledge of safeguarding, manual handling, and medication administration (preferred).
NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential).
