Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong cooking skills, extensive culinary experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional food quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, manage food production, and inspire a team of kitchen staff in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring all dishes meet high standards of presentation and taste while maintaining strict adherence to food safety regulations.

Duties

Support and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
Oversee daily food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
Prepare a variety of dishes, demonstrating advanced cooking techniques and culinary expertise
Manage the organisation of ingredients, supplies, and equipment to optimise workflow
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
Develop new recipes and menu items in collaboration with management
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and control waste to minimise costs
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies within the kitchen environment

Qualifications

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
Previous experience in food production and restaurant service is advantageous
Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential
