Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and educational support to young children in a nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while fostering a safe, engaging, and stimulating space for children's development. The Nursery Nurse will play a vital role in supporting children's learning, behaviour, and wellbeing, ensuring they feel secure and valued during their time at the nursery.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Supervise children during play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards
Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques
Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment
Assist with the training and mentoring of junior staff or interns when necessary
Drive nursery vehicles for outings or appointments as required (where applicable)

Qualifications

Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily operations and team coordination
Knowledge of childcare practices and early childhood education principles
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and independence
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or staff when needed
A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
