Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Flexible Bank Staff - Nursery Practitioner and become a vital part of creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children. In this role, you will provide high-quality childcare support across various shifts, ensuring each child's developmental needs are met with enthusiasm and professionalism. This position offers the flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, making it ideal for those passionate about early childhood education who seek a versatile and rewarding opportunity. You will play a key role in supporting our dedicated nursery team, fostering positive experiences for children, and contributing to their growth and well-being.

Duties

Assist in delivering engaging activities that promote children's social, emotional, and cognitive development
Support daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and play sessions in accordance with nursery policies
Supervise children both indoors and outdoors to ensure safety at all times
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to provide updates on progress and needs
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment that encourages learning and exploration
Follow all safeguarding procedures diligently to protect children's welfare
Support management with administrative tasks when required, including record keeping and reporting incidents

Requirements

Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with children, parents, and colleagues
Ability to manage groups of children effectively while maintaining safety standards
Management and leadership skills to support team collaboration when needed
Valid childcare qualifications or relevant nursery experience preferred
Flexibility to work various shifts on short notice; availability during peak hours is advantageous
A valid driving license is desirable for roles requiring travel between multiple nursery locations
