Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily operations across various departments, ensuring smooth workflow and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a dynamic and supportive environment. Fair Mills Trading Limited are a family run business that produces high grade alloys in ingot form, de-oxidants as well as graded scrap for different industry sectors

Duties

Sorting metal, baling, shearing, etc.,
Dealing with incoming material from trade and public
Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods, materials, and equipment
Preparing work areas and ensuring cleanliness and organisation of tools and supplies
Operating machinery and equipment following safety protocols (training provided)
Collaborating with team members to meet daily operational targets

Experience

Previous experience in a similar operative or manual role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Willingness to undertake training on machinery operation and safety protocols
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
Counterbalance forklift licence would be desirable

This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking hands-on experience in a supportive workplace. The position is weekly paid, offering valuable opportunities for skill development and career progression within the organisation.

The position will be paid weekly in arrears on a Thursday. 40hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. Benefits include 20 days holiday per year, plus 8 Statutory Bank Holidays, Company Pension and on-site parking
