Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Manager to lead and oversee the operations of a high-quality care home specializing in senior care, assisted living, and dementia support. As the Registered Manager, you will be the driving force behind delivering exceptional care services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a positive environment for residents and staff alike. Your leadership will inspire teams to provide compassionate, person-centered care that enhances the quality of life for all residents. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults while leading a motivated and professional team.

Duties

Lead the day-to-day management of the care home, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of care delivery.
Develop, implement, and regularly review personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
Oversee medication administration processes, ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations.
Supervise and support staff members, fostering a culture of excellence in senior and home care services through effective leadership and supervision.
Maintain strict adherence to regulatory requirements, including CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards or equivalent bodies, ensuring continuous compliance.
Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels efficiently to sustain high-quality service provision.
Promote a safe environment by conducting risk assessments, health & safety audits, and incident investigations.
Engage with residents’ families and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic support and communication.

Registered Children's Home Manager (Solo Home)

Location: West Midlands (Sandwell Area)
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience) + Performance Bonus + Registration Bonus

An exciting opportunity to establish and lead a brand-new children's home

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Children's Home Manager to lead the development, registration and operational management of a new solo children's home providing care for one young person with emotional and behavioural needs.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building services from the ground up and wants to shape a high-quality home that delivers outstanding outcomes for children.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the entire start-up process, from assisting with registration through to preparing the home for inspection and leading the service once operational.

About the Role

Working alongside the Responsible Individual and Directors, you will:

Lead the Ofsted registration process through to approval.
Assist in developing a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.
Prepare all documentation required for registration.
Recruit, induct and develop a high-performing staff team.
Develop positive relationships with local authorities and commissioning teams.
Ensure the home operates in line with all relevant legislation and regulations.
Embed a child-centred culture focused on achieving excellent outcomes.
Prepare the home for Ofsted inspections.
Maintain effective governance, safeguarding and quality assurance systems.
Monitor budgets, staffing and occupancy alongside senior management.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

Previous experience as a Registered Children's Home Manager or Deputy Manager ready to register.
Significant experience within residential childcare.
Experience of setting up or registering a new children's home is highly desirable.
Excellent knowledge of:
The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
The Quality Standards
Ofsted registration processes
Children's safeguarding legislation
Safer recruitment practices
Care planning and risk management
Experience preparing for Ofsted inspections.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Ability to develop policies, procedures and governance systems.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or be working towards it where permitted).
Relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
Evidence of continuous professional development.

Desirable Experience

Start-up or mobilisation of new children's homes.
Solo home experience.
Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
Experience recruiting and developing new staff teams.
Knowledge of therapeutic practice and trauma-informed care.
Experience working with commissioners and local authorities.
