Full job description

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Menswear Garment Technician to support our Garment Tech team. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate or recent graduate with up to 2 years of experience and a genuine interest in menswear garments. Initially offered on a part-time basis, this role has the potential to evolve into a full-time position as the workload demands. The primary focus will be on managing the sample process efficiently and accurately, providing crucial support to the Senior Garment Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

Sample Management:
Receiving and prioritizing samples based on delivery dates to meet deadlines.
Processing relevant workbooks accordingly.
Precisely measuring garment samples according to company standards, ensuring they are ready for fit sessions.
General Support:
Providing general support to the Senior Garment Technician to manage overall workload.
Maintaining organized sample storage and tracking systems.
Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as required by the Garment Tech team.

Skills and Experience:

Entry-level to 1-2 years of experience in a garment technology or related role is desirable.
Essential: Demonstrated experience and knowledge in accurately measuring garment samples.
Basic understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting principles.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
A proactive and can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and be coached.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Ability to remain calm and manage workload effectively under pressure.

Growth and Development Opportunities:

Attend and lead fit sessions under guidance.
Take ownership of creating fit comments based on feedback.
Potentially manage a specific garment category independently.

Working Hours:

This is initially a part-time role with an opportunity to grow into a full-time role based on performance and business needs. Working hours are Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm.

Salary:

Competitive, commensurate with experience.
