About The Role

Job Title: Finance Assistant (6 month FTC)

Salary: £27,810 per annum

Location: Hybrid, Home-based & BCA Blackbushe

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (9am to 6pm)

Job Status: Permanent

Main Purpose of The Role:

The Finance Assistant is a role within the BCA Finance Shared Services team. They are responsible for supporting financial control in the Auction Accounts team and assisting with cross functional working in the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Manual allocation of cash receipts onto various finance systems (incl. Navision and Sage).
Create files for processing by RPA robot for bulk receipts.
Investigate and resolve issue with unallocated receipts – including contras.
Maintain unallocated receipt reports.
Request for return of duplicated and overpaid amounts.
Post cash journal for missing entries.
Manually post invoices or credit notes to CALMS finance system.
Help monitor and manage team email mailbox queries.
Answer telephone calls and deal with the customer queries.
Complete bank reconciliations.
Daily reconciliation of journals posted.
Identify and flag the requirements for invoicing and credits.
Cashier ad-hoc duties as required and support with tasks in other Auction Accounts teams.

Knowledge and Experience:

Logical approach to problem solving through a methodical and organised manner.

Numeric abilities, including accuracy of data input and reconciliation skills.
Familiarity with all areas of accounting including sales ledger, bank reconciliations, purchase ledger, nominal ledger and reporting.
Agile approach, with the ability to keep up with the pace of change, ability to learn fast and adapt to new conditions quickly and effectively.
Effective communicator, with good oral and written skills.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload and use own initiative.
Ability to meet deadlines.
A team player with a can do/flexible attitude to work and helping colleagues.
MS Office skills are an advantage – including data Manipulation though MS Excel that includes, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and pivot tables.
Experience of Navision Accounting software would be an advantage.
Finance Experience preferred, ideally working towards a professional qualification or with the ambition to do so.
