Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organised full time Medical Administrator/Receptionist to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional administrative support, managing patient interactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, contributing to a welcoming and efficient environment. Previous office and administrative experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

This is a full time role at 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am - 6.30pm, hours to be confirmed at interview.

Responsibilities

Greeting patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Managing appointment scheduling and cancellations using the practice management system
Handling incoming calls, responding to enquiries, and directing them appropriately
Maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
Processing billing, payments, and insurance claims efficiently
Coordinating correspondence, including emails and postal mail
Ensuring the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
Assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document organisation

Requirements

Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare setting
Strong administrative skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining professionalism
Friendly demeanor with a customer-focused approach
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with confidentiality standards
