Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to create a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the well-being, development, and independence of residents. This is a paid position suitable for individuals passionate about making a positive difference in young lives.

Responsibilities

Offer personalised care and support tailored to each child's needs, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans, working collaboratively with other professionals and families.
Engage children in meaningful activities that promote social skills, education, and personal growth.
Support children with daily routines such as meal preparation, hygiene, and leisure activities.
Drive children to appointments, school, or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation.
Maintain accurate records of care provided, behaviour observations, and progress notes in accordance with organisational policies.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, children, families, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support.
Uphold health and safety standards within the residential setting at all times.

Qualifications

Experience working with adult or in adult settings is highly desirable.
Valid driving licence with clean driving record preferred for transporting residents.
Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with children and team members.
Knowledge of child development principles and ability to implement care plans effectively.
IT literacy for documentation and communication purposes.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting young people’s growth and independence.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
