Sous Chef – The Original Rosslyn Inn, Roslin

Salary: £34,000–£39,000 (depending on candidate experience)
Full-time | 40–45 hours per week | 5 days from 7

The Role

Working alongside our experienced Head Chef, you'll play a key role in delivering consistently high-quality food using fresh, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. We take pride in cooking from scratch and creating seasonal dishes that keep guests coming back.

As Sous Chef, you'll be a leader in the kitchen, helping to maintain our high standards while supporting and developing the team around you.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to consistently high standards.
Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service.
Helping develop new dishes and seasonal menus.
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
Managing stock, ordering and reducing waste.
Ensuring every plate leaving the kitchen reflects our reputation for quality.
Stepping up to lead the kitchen when the Head Chef is off duty.

We're Looking For Someone Who

Has previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up.
Is passionate about fresh food and traditional cooking techniques.
Leads by example and enjoys developing others.
Works calmly under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
Holds a good understanding of food safety and kitchen management.
Wants to become part of a business for the long term.
