Studio Assistant — Silver & Steel, Bristol

Part-time | 10 hours per week across 2 days | £13 per hour

About Silver & Steel

Silver & Steel is a one-of-a-kind creative hub in the heart of Bristol, bringing together the very best of the jewellery world under one roof. We host studio space and hotdesking for independent jewellers, run courses and workshops for enthusiasts of all levels, and sell beautifully crafted, independently designed and handmade jewellery in person and online.

We're a small, passionate team and we're looking for someone special to help us keep things running smoothly. You’ll be someone who loves people, takes pride in the details, and wants to be part of a genuinely unique creative community and small business and help it thrive.

The role

As the Studio Assistant, you'll be the warm, welcoming face of Silver & Steel; the first point of contact for customers, jewellers, and workshop participants alike. You'll keep the studio organised, the admin ticking over, and the whole operation feeling as polished as the jewellery we sell.

This is a varied hands-on role that combines front-of-house customer service with practical studio and administrative responsibilities. No two days will be exactly the same and while the hours are currently limited we plan to grow the role with the right person as we grow as a business.

What you'll be doing

Customer & front-of-house

Welcoming customers and visitors to the studio with warmth and enthusiasm
Selling our jewellery and answering product enquiries
Representing the face of Silver & Steel to clients with professionalism
Taking in repair items and tracking their progress through to collection
Managing our inbox and responding to customer emails
Acting as a keyholder and representing Silver & Steel's values at all times

Studio & operations

Maintaining the studio booking system for hotdesks and workshops
Fulfilling online sales and keeping our website listings up to date
Keeping the workshop tidy, organised, and well-maintained including washing up, watering plants and cleaning cabinets.
Tracking materials inventory and preparing materials for upcoming workshops
Accurate record keeping across sales, repairs, gift cards, and workshop castings
Liaising with designers regarding stock
Posting orders and filing receipts
Light website administration including product uploads and onboarding new designers

What we're looking for

We're less concerned with a specific background than we are about finding the right person and we don’t require previous jewellery industry experience, and we prefer someone who isn’t a jeweller.

That said, we do require a good level of experience in either events/entertainment/festival operations, hospitality, retail or sales as we feel these roles have transferable skills that suit the variety and pace of this role.

Responsible with an attention to detail

The details

Hours: 10 hours per week across 2 days including .
Salary: £25,350 pro rata (based on 37.5 hours per week) / £13 per hour
Location: Bristol (on-site)
Contract: Employed and permanent
