Full job description

Job title: Trainee Office Administrator (Full Time, Harlow)

Salary: £20,000 – £23,500 a year (£10.85 – £12.91 an hour), depending on age and experience

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Location: In person - Harlow

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–17:00 (your choice), one hour unpaid lunch. 35 paid hours a week.

About KW Tree Care

We're a tree surgery company based in Harlow. We work for homeowners, businesses and councils across Essex, Hertfordshire and North London. The office is a small team supporting crews who are out on site every day.

This is a trainee role, assisting the office team with the admin that keeps jobs moving: emails and messages, customer quotes, invoicing, spreadsheets, and keeping our job records up to date.

We're not expecting you to turn up knowing any of it. There's a written daily routine, a set order to learn things in, and people sitting next to you to train you. What matters far more to us is attitude and organisation. If you're accurate, have an eye for detail, you follow things through and you're keen to learn, we'll teach you the rest.

What you'd be doing

Working through the inbox and company messages, answering what you can and passing the rest to the right person

Helping put together customer quotes

Raising invoices, and checking that finished jobs have been invoiced

Keeping job records accurate and up to date

General office admin and ordering

What we're looking for

Clear, polite written English. A lot of this job is words going out to customers with our name on them.

Accuracy. References, addresses and numbers need to be right

Someone who follows a routine without being reminded, and finishes things instead of leaving them half done

Comfortable being interrupted and picking straight back up

Basic confidence with a computer, and happy to learn new systems

Able to get to our Harlow office reliably for a prompt start, all year round

Happy working in a small team

No previous office experience is needed. You don't need to know anything about trees, construction or accounts software. If you've done some admin before that's fine, but it isn't what we're selecting on.
