Waking Night Residential Support Worker

Infinity Care | 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off | 10:00pm–10:00am

Job Summary

Infinity Care is an established children’s care provider committed to helping young people feel safe, supported and valued.

We are looking for a calm, reliable and caring Waking Night Support Worker to safeguard and support young people throughout the night. If a young person is awake, distressed or needs help, you will provide reassurance, practical support and appropriate boundaries.

This is a lone-working role, supported by clear procedures, an experienced management team and an on-call service.

Key Responsibilities

Safeguard young people and promote their welfare throughout the night.
Support young people who are awake, unsettled or require emotional or practical support.
Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
Respond appropriately to missing-from-care incidents, including contacting the police, managers, emergency duty teams and out-of-hours social workers.
Manage incidents and emergencies calmly and professionally.
Complete regular welfare, environmental and fire-safety checks.
Maintain accurate records of observations, incidents and actions taken.
Complete household duties to ensure the home remains clean, safe and welcoming.
Provide a clear handover to the day team.
Work confidently alone while knowing when to seek management or emergency support.

What We Are Looking For

A caring, resilient and responsible approach.
The confidence to work alone and make safe decisions.
Good communication and record-keeping skills.
The ability to remain awake, alert and professional throughout the shift.
An understanding of safeguarding and the needs of children and young people.
Previous experience in residential childcare is desirable, but full training will be provided.
Basic IT skills.
A full UK driving licence is desirable.
