Job Advert HR Administrator

Reports to Assistant Operational Director

Location – Heywood (Office based)

Working hours – 9-5pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £32,000 per annum

Our mission is to empower residents by offering quality accommodation and assistance to help tenants maintain their tenancies and transition into permanent housing solutions.

Job Summary

We are looking for a HR Administrator to join our team in Manchester.

The role will be responsible to provide operational support to District Homes in London and Manchester as a key member of the team. To undertake the HR function working with the Director of Operations

You will need to have knowledge and experience of working in a HR environment. Working in Social Housing is desirable but not essential for the role.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide general support for the Director of Operations and HR function

· Assist in the provision of an efficient and effective HR service

· Provide advice and guidance on a range of policies and procedures

· Maintain employee records and HR documentation

· Support the updating of HR policies and procedures when required

· Assist with all aspects of the recruitment process

· Manage employee records on the HR system, including adding new starters and uploading documentation

· Provide advice, guidance and support to staff on HR related issues

· Monitor and record annual leave and sickness

· Support HR compliance processes (e.g. right to work checks and documentation)

· Ensure employee ID documents and car insurances are valid and up to date, including DBS (Update Service) checks

· Prepare and issue HR correspondence, including probation confirmation letters and job role change documentation

· Produce minutes of meetings as required by the Director or Senior Leadership Team including staff grievances, disciplinary hearings and board meetings

· Work collaboratively with colleagues and cover for colleagues during absences

· Support District Homes in ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for staff and clients

· Comply with District Homes’ standards of information governance, data security and protection, and documented systems and procedure

Person Specification

Experience

· Previous experience of providing HR support (preferably in a housing environment)

· Experience of working with sensitive and confidential information

· Experience of taking minutes

Skills and Abilities

Strong interpersonal skills including representing District Homes to external stakeholders and partners
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational skills with a proactive approach to managing work
Able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines
Good verbal and numerical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Able to support colleagues who are geographically dispersed

· High degree of integrity, confidentiality and diplomacy

Knowledge

Excellent ICT skills including use of packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection

· Knowledge of basic HR law

Education and training

· A level or equivalent

· Commitment to continued personal development
